Bloom Beauty salon employees in New York City have been given raises worth up to $500.
Bloom Beauty has reportedly received a $1 million raise from its chief executive officer to $1.4 million.
The pay raises were announced Thursday by Bloom’s interim CEO, Rebecca Loeffler.
The company said it was hiring a “top talent” to lead the Bloom Beauty team.
The company said the raises are for the top 10% of Bloom employees and will be in line with the company’s goal of increasing the average pay to $75,000 annually by 2020.
In addition, the company said, it is seeking to improve its employee wellness program and increase the number of hours worked per week.
“Bloom Beauty is committed to a commitment to diversity and inclusion, which is in line the company values and values its employees,” the company stated in a statement.
“Bloom Beauty employees are an incredibly diverse group of people who deserve to receive the support they need to build an exceptional work environment.”
Bloom Beauty opened in 2014 and is owned by Loeffe.
