India’s beauty industry is the most valuable in the country, according a survey by a leading beauty consultancy.
India has over 8.5 million beauty salarians, or 8.2% of the population, according the survey by Nurture India.
India’s total beauty industry employs more than 10.4 million people, according Nurturist India.
Nurturing India has also stated that over 3 million beauty practitioners are in the Indian market, while over 6.5% of Indian women are beauty practitioners.
“India is the best market for beauty in the developed world.
It has been the leader for years in the field of salons, and this trend is only going to accelerate,” said Nurturer Pradeep Patel, Managing Director, Nurtures India.
Patel added that the number of Indian beauty salians has grown from 6.4% in 2016 to over 8% in 2019, when Nurturers India also conducted a survey.
India ranks third in the global beauty rankings, behind the United States and the United Kingdom.
The country has also been named among the top 10 countries in the US, and the top 20 countries in Europe.
Nurturing’s findings also revealed that Indian beauty practitioners enjoy the highest pay, in terms of earnings, of any country in the region.
India has an average annual salary of Rs. 11,400 per month, according research firm Mintel.
However, there is a huge disparity in the salaries of Indian salons between those in the private sector and the government sector.
In fact, the average monthly salary of a saloonist in the city of Hyderabad is just Rs. 4,000, while the same saloon in the national capital, Delhi, is paid more than Rs. 10,000.
Narti Karki, founder of Nurturus India, said the Indian beauty industry has benefited from its low cost of living.
“The government subsidises the salons with subsidies from the Centre.
There are some good things that can be achieved with these resources.
This has given us great incentives to stay in India,” Karkit said.
