A barbie salon in the United States is offering a one-year deal for women to take advantage of its lucrative beauty services.
Barbie, which is owned by American cosmetics company JCPenney, announced Monday that it is offering customers the chance to buy a beauty package with one of its popular products for just $1,100.
The beauty package includes a shampoo, conditioner, lip gloss, lip tint and hair brush, and is available starting July 1, 2019.
A total of 14 million barbie products are on sale, and the sale comes just months after a similar deal was announced for women.
The deal is a first for a company owned by a cosmetics giant, according to Reuters.
Barbies products are made with artificial pigments and pigments derived from animal fur.
A total of 11 billion barbies are sold annually worldwide, according the company.
“Barbie is one of the most recognizable brands in the world, and this deal is another important milestone in our company’s transformation,” said Tiffany Hensley, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Barbie.
“We know how important the Barbie brand is to millions of women and their families.
We are proud to have this opportunity to give back to our fans and to help make a positive difference in their lives.”
The sale comes days after a JCPennney-owned beauty salon in Pennsylvania announced it was offering $2,500 to women to buy an item from its products.
The salon, which was founded in 2003, is one step closer to getting a license from the Pennsylvania Department of Licensing and Regulation (PLR).
It also announced Monday it is planning to launch a beauty-care partnership with the Pennsylvania State Fair in 2019.
