The salon opened in Cypres Hill on Friday with a view from its rooftop, where the salon was initially scheduled to open in the spring of 2018.
The new location at 1101 E. Cypress St. is located just east of Cypress Plaza, across the street from Cypress Valley Park.
The salon will offer beauty products from beauty and haircare brands like J. Crew, Urban Decay, Urban Outfitters and L’Oreal.
“It’s a really beautiful space.
We wanted to create a space where people feel comfortable coming in,” said owner CeCee Lee.
“We are going to be a part of the Cypress community.”
The salon’s interior design was inspired by the area and has been hand-crafted in the space.
“This space is really designed to evoke the feeling of Cypres Hills,” Lee said.
“A lot of people will come in here and feel very safe and secure.”
The space also features a private lounge area, a spa, a salon and a bar.
“The beauty industry in this area is so crowded right now,” said Kim Pugh, who lives in Cypresses and has lived in the area for 18 years.
“I think it’s so important for Cypres to be included in this conversation about what we can do to keep our businesses and businesses here.”
Pugh also works for the Cypres City Council, and says she has no plans to move, even though she wants to open a salon in the Cypresses.
“Cypres is a wonderful community,” Pugh said.
In a recent interview with CBS News, Lee talked about how the salon will be different than the one in Cyprose Park, which has a large and popular pool area, and a few other features.
“When you’re in a neighborhood like Cypres, there are so many people who want to go to a bar and hang out and you know, there’s so much more to do,” Lee told CBS News.
“You have so many different things to do.
I don’t think this is the same as the Cyprose area.
I think we’re really going to make Cypres a little more fun.”
