A unique beauty salon in India has been accused of having a drag-themed salon, in which customers wear drag costumes.
The owner of a beauty salon located in the city of Pune has reportedly been fined Rs.2,500 ($2,200) for allowing customers to dress in drag costumes for a performance.
According to the Express Tribune, the owner, Ankit Patel, was reportedly fined for allowing the performance, which was conducted on May 23, 2016, to be held at the salon.
According the newspaper, Patel has reportedly appealed the fine and is currently in court.
Patel reportedly denied the charges and said he had been “in the process of training the staff and making sure that the decorum of the salon was appropriate”.
